Sporotrichosis
Sporotrichosis is a fungal infection caused by Sporothrix schenckii. It has both cutaneous and systemic forms. Cutaneous forms may be lymphangitic, fixed, or disseminated. The lymphangitic type is the most common form, which follows the implantation of spores in a wound and therefore usually occurs on exposed skin. Clinically it starts in the form of a painless papule and subsequently a chain of nodular lesions appears along the lymphatic vessels draining the area. |
