Diagnosis: Morphea

Classically morphea is considered as a localized form of scleroderma. It is characterized by a well demarcated plaque with a smooth appearance which is usually indurated on palpation. Morphea is more common in females.

Usually, localized morphea is not a diagnostic problem but its treatment is generally disappointing. Asymptomatic plaques should probably be left alone to resolve spontaneously.
